Which is one of the fastest growing demographics among social network users? If you are thinking teens and young adults, you'll be surprised to learn differently. According to the latest Pew Research report, social network users between the ages of 50 and 64 have nearly doubled over the last year, comprising around 46 percent of the general social media population. While young adults from 18-29 continue to dominate use in sites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, older Americans are no strangers to the Internet. The majority of the wired population over 50 use the Internet mainly to read news and exchange e-mail, yet sharing via social networks is fast becoming a trend in the age group.
